How to Join

  1. Every applicant for membership shall complete an “Application form for Membership”.
  2. This form may be drawn to collate all the information required for the purposes of a Register of Members. The completed form, when filed in serial order, shall constitute the
  3. Register of Members as required under the Co-operative Act.
  4. An applicant shall be admitted to membership on being accepted by a majority vote of the Board of Directors but shall not qualify for the rights and privileges of membership until he has paid an entrance fee of KES.1000, or any other amount as may be revised and subsequently ratified by Members at a General Meeting.
  5. Every member shall receive a Photo card, which shall contain full particulars of his membership. If such a photo card is lost, issuance of a duplicate may be authorized by the Board of Directors upon payment of such a fee as it may determine from time to time.
  6. Every member shall have his name in the Register of Members kept for that purpose, which shall contain full details of membership. A separate record shall be maintained for the Member’s shares, deposits, and loan transactions with the society. Entry into the Members’ Register shall be conclusive evidence that the person named therein is a member of the society.
  7. In the case of a society using the “check-off system” for payment on members’ shares and deposits, and for loan payments, the Board of Directors may direct that a periodic “Statement of Account” containing a record of the members’ transactions with the society, shall be sent to every member not less frequently than once every three months.
